A question was recently asked of Great Britain scientists: why are an abundance of people suffering from arthritis – whether they have been diagnosed with it or not – visiting hospitals with the same exact kind of joint pain?

How can people who have the same bone positioning develop pain issues, including arthritis?

Researchers explored the evolution of the body to get an answer, and their findings lead to a discovery of a simple arthritis treatment.

Scientists at the University of Oxford conducted research by examining reports of patients who complained of front knee, shoulder, and hip pain upon raising their arms. These types of pain were the most typical joint problems.

They gathered and scanned 224 bone specimens and 128 slice CT scans from dinosaurs, reptiles, humans, and primates that have existed over the last 350 million years. Scientists then used 3D engineering technology to observe the modifications in bone structure arrangement throughout time.

Their results were startling. The necks of thighbones have thickened over time as we evolved from walking on all fours to two legs. This allowed our thighs and hips to be supported (which used to be carried by our arms when we did walk on all fours).

That said, this required thickening of the thighbone’s neck has enlarged it to the point where it can’t comfortably fit on top of the hip joint, raising the probability of hip pain.

Our shoulders endured a similar circumstance.

A space in our shoulders where blood vessels and tendons pass through have become thinner, which has inhibited the tendons’ moving space that is active when we raise our arms.

By chronicling the historical development of bones, researchers determined what our bodies could look like in 4,000 years. They discovered that existing structural trends and relevant pains will likely increase.

This research suggests that joint replacements will need to be modified to accommodate the shape of our changing bodies. Scientists have also suggested that consistent muscle strength training, flexibility exercises, and proper posture can mitigate the impact of evolution.

Of course, that’s 4,000 years ahead. What can we do at the moment?

My arthritis pain used to leave me immobilized. For years, I’ve suffered as inflammation made things worse with each passing day. One day, I discovered one ingredient that would change everything for the better…
